What we collect when you apply

Your projects and survey data

Your projects and survey data, including floor plans, photos, notes and measurements, belong to you. We store them only to run Wi-Fi Studio for you, to support you when you ask for help, and to fix problems. AI review is optional and only runs when you choose to use it. When you do, the survey data for that survey is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the review, and it is used only for that purpose. We don't use your project data for anything else, and we don't share it with anyone except the service providers listed below.

Your device and approximate location

When you use Wi-Fi Studio, we record your device type, operating system and browser, language, time zone, and approximate location (city, region and country, worked out from your connection). We use this to support you, to fix problems that affect particular devices or browsers, and to understand where the beta is being used.

Activity logs

We keep a log of key actions in your account, such as signing up and signing in, saving, emailing or deleting surveys, using AI review, sending feedback, and changes to your licence or beta access. We use it to run the service, investigate problems and keep your account secure.

Bug reports

When you send a bug report, we keep what you write, technical details about your device, browser and the page you were on, and any screenshots or videos you attach. We use them only to investigate and fix the problem, and we may reply to you about it.

Sharing surveys

If you share a survey with other Wi-Fi Studio users you choose, they can see its contents with the access level you give them. We keep a record of who you shared it with, their access level, and when sharing started, expired or was removed.

Cookies and browser storage

We use only essential sign-in cookies, which keep you signed in for up to 30 days. The app also stores some information in your browser that it needs to work, such as your settings and unsaved survey data. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies. Google sign-in and our web fonts load from Google, which receives your IP address when they load.

Record of your acceptance of the Beta Agreement

When you tick "I agree to the Wi-Fi Studio Beta Agreement", or accept it from a link we send you, we keep a record of:

We use this record to show that you agreed to the Beta Agreement, which version applied, and when.

Emails we send

We send application confirmation emails, acceptance links and beta access emails through our email provider, Resend. We keep a record of when each email was sent and whether it was delivered, delayed, bounced or marked as spam. We use this to check you received the email, to resend a link when needed, and to stop emailing addresses that bounce.

Wi-Fi Studio Assure release list

If you sign up to hear when Wi-Fi Studio Assure is officially released, we keep your email address only to tell you about the release. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing support@thewificonnection.com.

Why we can use this information

How long we keep it

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run Wi-Fi Studio for us: Cloudflare (application and database hosting), Netlify (app hosting), Resend (email delivery), Google (sign-in, web fonts, and a copy of our licence records in Google Sheets: licence ID, name, email, organisation, plan, status, dates and seats, never licence keys), SignWell (electronic signing, only for testers who were sent our earlier beta NDA) and our AI review provider, Anthropic. Some of them may process data outside the Isle of Man. We do not sell your information.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to or limit how we use it, or withdraw consent, by emailing support@thewificonnection.com. We may keep the acceptance record where we still need it to show the agreement was accepted. You can complain to the Isle of Man Information Commissioner.
